Defining a Condition for a Transition

A transition can be connected to a screen element from directly within the Guidance Workflow Wizard. You can also define a business entity condition for a transition using the wizard.

To connect a transition to a screen element in the Guidance Workflow Wizard:

1. In the upper pane of the Guidance Workflow Wizard window, select the transition to connect to a screen element.
2. Click the Screen Element button. Before clicking this button, be sure that the screen element that you want to capture is displayed on the screen.
3. Capture the screen element in the standard manner (see Capturing a Screen Element). The captured screen element is shown in the edit box in the Guidance Workflow Wizard window. It represents the screen element to be connected to the transition.

4. Define the property or event to connect to the captured screen element, which will be used for the transition. To do so, select the property or event to assign to the screen element from the drop-downlist . This drop-down lists all the properties and events that are relevant to the screen element specified in the edit box. For example, in the window below, the Visible property is selected for the BUTTON - screen element.

Screen elements cannot be used directly in a transition condition. To use a screen element in a condition, it must be bound to a business entity.

After you select the property or event to connect to the screen element, its name is displayed below the edit box.

In this example, the Visible property is bound to the BUTTON - screen element of the calculator. This means that when the BUTTON screen element is visible, the transition to the next step is triggered.

To define a business entity condition for a transition in the Guidance Workflow Wizard:

1. In the upper pane of the Guidance Workflow Wizard window, select the transition for which you want to define a business entity condition.
2. Click the Business Entity button.
3. Define the business entity condition rule in the standard manner.
