References

A reference enables a Real-Time Designer project to reference (see and use) the objects that were defined as public in another (referenced) project.

Real-Time Designer can include reference libraries that contain business entity types and logic provided by Real-Time Designer or other sources. Such reference libraries provide access to objects and methods that are programmed (meaning they were not built using Real-Time Designer), and which enable various types of functionality.

For example, you can create a specific library for the purpose of communicating with a company's web services, . The objects contained within that library can then be selected when defining an action for a rule.

Using references between projects and using public objects lays down the foundation for sharing business entities between projects. This enables you to divide up the development process of a Real-Time Designer solution so that each designer works on a separate project, but shares all the business entities and other objects that they decide to make public.
